Gadar 2 Box Office: Sunny Deol starrer set to become 2nd Bollywood film in ₹500 crore club

Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2 has wreaked havoc at the box office. The movie was released on the Independence Day weekend and clashed with OMG 2. The sequel to Gadar: Ek Prem Katha has made many box office records and is now en route to becoming the highest-grossing film of the year. The Anil Sharma directorial will breach the ₹500 crore mark at the domestic box office on Sunday.

Gadar 2 set to enter ₹500 crore club 

Gadar 2 continued its momentum and earned ₹5.72 crore on its second Saturday, as per early estimates of Sacnilk. This takes the movie’s total business to ₹493.65 crore, only a few lakhs short of the ₹500 crore.

As per trade analyst Sumit Kadel, Gadar 2 is all set to enter the ₹500 crore club today, on its fourth Sunday. The film will become only the second Bollywood film after Pathaan to achieve this record at the domestic box office. Not only will the Sunny Deol film breach the ₹500 crore club, but it will also become the fastest Hindi film to achieve the feat, in just 24 days of theatrical run, beating Pathaan (28 days) and Baahubali 2 (34 days). 

Gadar 2 cast and crew come together to celebrate the film’s success 

Gadar 2 has maintained a firm grip at the box office. A positive word of mouth, a feeling of nostalgia and several national holidays helped aid the film’s business. To celebrate the success of the film director Anil Sharma and the team of Gadar 2 threw a lavish success party in Mumbai on September 2.

In attendance at the star-studded affair was the film’s cast Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma and Simratt Kaur. Sunny Deol’s family members including Bobby Deol, Dharmendra and Karan Deol were also in attendance. Others like Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, Kajol, Ajay Devgan, Vicky Kaushal, Varun Dhawan, Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan also attended the celebrations.
