Gadar 2 only Rs 2 crore shy of surpassing Pathaan box office collection in India

Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 released on August 11 and ended up becoming a huge hit at the box office. Coming more than two decades after the initial classic Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Gadar 2 ended up having a bumper box office run. The Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer was released alongside Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2, Rajinikanth starrer Jailer and Chiranjeevi’s Bhola Shankar and together, contributed to the biggest weekend ever in the history of India box office. Now that the film is nearing the end of its box office run, will it be able to surpass the lifetime gross of Pathaan?

Gadar 2 could surpass Pathaan’s lifetime biz soon

As per trade analyst Sumit Kadel, Gadar 2 is close to beating Pathaan lifetime collection in India. Gadar 2 has earned Rs 522 crore so far throughout its six-week-long run in India. Pathaan collection is Rs 524 crore in India and the Sunny Deol starrer is closing in on its business. 

Meanwhile, Gadar 2 is still far away from the worldwide gross of Pathaan, which stands at Rs 1051 crore. Gadar 2, on that front, stands at Rs 681.5 crore and lags by a huge margin.

Gadar 2 ticket prices slashed

Previously, it was announced that from September 15 onwards, the prices of Gadar 2 tickets would cost Rs 150. This came after another massive hit, Atlee’s Jawan, seized total control of the box office. This has jeopardised Gadar 2 collection and slowed down its business.
