Jab Harry Met Sejal has set a record. Which record?
Shah Rukh Khan has claimed that the song Hawayein from his and Anushka Sharma's upcoming film Jab Harry Met Sejal had created a record for the most streamed song (among Indian movies) in the first 24 hours
While it's not unusual for films starring Shah Rukh Khan to set the box office alight, in this case, a pretty serious record has been broken without the film in question even having released! In a social media post issued on Thursday, King Khan claimed that the song Hawayein from his and Anushka Sharma's upcoming film Jab Harry Met Sejal had created a record for the most streamed song (among Indian movies) in the first 24 hours.
While it's not immediately possible to verify SRK's claim, we can at least confirm that at the time of writing, the song has racked up an incredible 7 million views on YouTube!
But what's the fuss all about? Let us tell you.
The video begins with SRK and Anushka Sharma very much engrossed in one another. Shah Rukh is lip-syncing the song in a voice that is about as far from his own as his age is from Anushka's. Regardless, they're traveling in Europe by train, each scene getting more intense than the last. After ditching the train for a Zindagi Ma Milegi Dobara-esque buggy, they arrive at some truly spectacular locales -- the kind where falling in love is inevitable. Surprisingly, Anushka seems a little fed up, though that may just be because she's brought her iPad with her and she can't find Wi-fi. (It's not entirely implausible!)
The song itself is a slow, soulful number with a repeating but forgettable chorus. Hawayein has been sung by Arijit Singh. You can listen to it in the video below -
The trailer of Jab Harry Met Sejal released a week ago. It featured Shah Rukh Khan as a Europe based tour-guide. In the trailer, Anushka Sharma, who seems to have lost her engagement ring approaches Shah Rukh for help. However, he doesn't seem to be very helpful or polite person. With great music and catchy dialogues, the film is expected to be a great treat to the audience. The reviews of the trailer highly appreciated the on-screen chemistry shared by the lead pair. Directed by Imtiaz Ali the film is all set to hit the theaters on August 4.
