Kalki Koechlin is currently basking in the success of the recently released second season of Made In Heaven. She reprised her role of Faiza Naqvi in the same. Recently, the actress took to her social media handle, to reflect on the several long-standing conjectures surrounding her background and identity.

3 things you need to know

Kalki Koechlin reflects on her media-constructed 'identity crisis'

Kalki recently took to her Instagram handle to share a series of images accompanied with a poignant caption about the conjectures that surround her identity. Kalki's caption comprised of a series of rhetorical questions detailing the many questions people have had about her through her time as a public figure. First on the list was her national identity being French or Indian. This was followed by a similarly phrased question about her age and conjecture about if she met the beauty standards of the industry.

Kalki's caption also carried the hashtag '#lovemyidentitycrisis', which was a subtle nod to the fact that she did not feel the need to confirm or deny any of these questions and that she loved all versions of herself. Her short but telling caption read, "French or Indian? Young or old? Pretty or ‘unconventional’? #lovemyidentitycrisis #allkindsofme #gratefulforthecolours"

Kalki Koechlin has previously too addressed questions about her identity

In a previous interview, the actress had revealed that her fair-skin made her the prey of being stereotyped as the "white girl in India". She has also addressed the dilemmas she faced as a "white-skinned woman growing up in Tamil Nadu" further elaborating how she often has had to make a case for her "Indianess". The actress' recent post, appears to be a declaration of the fact that these insecurities no longer plague her.
