Kareena Kapoor says ‘People’s spirits are back’ after COVID
In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Kareena Kapoor opined on the movies doing successful business after the COVID-19 pandemic. She expressed excitement about people willing to go out to theatres to watch films and watch a good show on OTT. She said, “I think it's a brilliant time for cinema in general. I think people are just watching a lot more content, going to cinemas, watching OTT because there's so much out there.”
She added that the COVID pandemic was a ‘sad time in general’, where people were maintaining caution while. Kareena Kapoor added, “We were all literally traumatized.” Talking about the shift from that, she said “ I think that suddenly has now changed, and people want to go out, whether it's going out for dinner or to a cinema, whether it's watching a good show on OTT. I think people's spirits are just back in a different way.”

In the same interview, Jaane Jaan director Sujoy Ghosh also mirrored the thoughts of his lead actress. He opined that it is a good thing that the recently released films are working. He added, “I am really happy people are going back to the theatre, we are all coming out, and the whole cinema culture is back. But, like she (Kareena) said, that was the time when people were a little scared to go. I personally never went because I have a vulnerable person in my family, ”
