Khufiya trailer: Tabu, a Raw agent, is on a mission to track down the mole in the agency

The makers of Tabu starrer Khufiya finally unveiled the trailer of the film on Monday after much suspense. Helmed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the neo-noir spy thriller also stars Ali Fazal, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Ashish Vidyarthi, among others in pivotal roles. The film is based on true events showcasing an agent being a mole in RAW.

• Khufiya is based on Amar Bhushan's novel Escape to Nowhere. 
• It is slated to stream on Netflix from October 5. 

Is Ali Fazal a traitor? 

The trailer of Khufiya starts with a pan shot of the building, while in the corner of the frame, a text reads, "2004 R&AW Headquarters, New Delhi. The next frame introduces Tabu as Krishna Mehra, an officer at RAW, while in the background, we can hear a voiceover saying, "Somebody betrayed us. We have a mole in the agency." Soon after, Tabu is seen following a RAW employee, Ravi Mohan (Ali Fazal), who is the prime suspect. 

As the video continues, Tabu is seen keeping an eye on Ravi Mohan and his family. Towards the end of the trailer, it is shown Wamiqa, the wife of Ravi Mohan, suspecting her husband as a traitor. In another frame, Tabu can be seen helping Ravi Mohan escape the situation, leaving viewers confused.

Vishal Bhardwaj also shared the trailer on his Instagram handle and captioned it as "Yahan hathiyaar ke roop hain alag, aur jung hai Khufiya. In a world of spies, the traitor must be brought to light."

The film, produced by Vishal Bhardwaj, will have its world premiere at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA). Speaking about his film, the director shared his excitement and said, "I have always been very fascinated with the world of espionage and am truly excited to explore this genre with Khufiya. This film gave me a chance to reunite with Tabu and work for the very first time with two very talented actors- Ali Fazal and Wamiqa Gabbi. I cannot wait to share this thrilling and powerful story.’’
