Ranbir Kapoor reduces his fees by over 50% for Animal to support producers?

Ranbir Kapoor is all set to headline the upcoming film Animal. The movie is scheduled to release on December 1, after being pushed once. As per new reports, due to delays in productions and mounting costs, the lead actor has decided to cut down on his fees.

Animal will mark Ranbir Kapoor’s second film of the year after Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar. The film is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and is produced by Bhushan Kumar under the T-Series banner. The movie was initially scheduled to release on August 11 but was postponed owing to a delay in post-production work.

The film’s teaser was released on September 28, the day of the actor’s birthday. The teaser was met with a positive response and piqued the audience's interest in the movie. Apart from Kapoor, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in important roles.

As per a report in Pinkvilla, Ranbir Kapoor has slashed his remuneration for the film owing to mounting costs due to the delay in release. As per the report, due to extensive post-production work and delay in release, the cost of the making has gone significantly up. Reports suggest that Ranbir Kapoor cut his fees by over 50%. The actor is now allegedly charging fees of ₹30-35 crore while having a share in profit if the film does well at the box office.

Animal marks the second Hindi film directorial of filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga who shot to fame with Vijay Deverakonda starrer Arjun Reddy and later made his Hindi film debut with Kabir Singh, which collected Rs 276 crore nett at the box office. Kabir Singh too was produced by Bhushan Kumar, who is now producing the Ranbir Kapoor starrer. Besides starring Ranbir Kapoor Animal will also feature stars like Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Triptii Dimri and Bobby Deol in prominent supporting roles.
