Sandeep Reddy Vanga recalls being in awe of Ranbir Kapoor’s performance while editing Animal

Sandeep Reddy Vanga is currently basking in the success of his film Animal. The Ranbir Kapoor starrer has created history by becoming the fastest Hindi film to breach the Rs 500 crore mark at the domestic box office. In a recent interview, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who marked his second Hindi venture with the film also heaped praises on his lead star in the movie, Ranbir. 

Sandeep Reddy Vanga heaps praises of Ranbir Kapoor 

Days after the release of Animal, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga spoke highly of the lead star Ranbir Kapoor. The filmmaker has always spoken highly of Ranbir Kapoor’s work. In an interview with Galatta Plus, Sandeep mentioned how he was in awe of Ranbir’s performance in the film. 

Recalling the time he sat down to edit the film, Sandeep said, “In the edit room, when I was watching from A to Z, not in a continuous flow but in bits and pieces, I used to get this feeling that ‘what is happening with this guy?’ Because Ranbir played it so well, I have no words to express.” The director mentioned feeling the same when he watched the actor in Rockstar and Sanju. 

Sandeep Vanga heaps praises of Ranbir Kapoor’s previous performance 

In the same conversation, Sandeep Reddy Vanga spoke highly of Ranbir’s performance in movies like Sanju and Rockstar. He said, “In Sanju and Rockstar, while I was watching, I forgot that this is cinema. Especially while watching Sanju, I forgot that it was a film and it happened with Animal also.” 

The filmmaker also recalled calling Ranbir Kapoor after watching the edit. He remembered, “In the edit room, one day I felt like… from inside… ‘What’s happening with this guy’s life? That very rarely happens. I was feeling bad, I was rooting for him..I called Ranbir saying, ‘Dude, what have you done? Like, what is this?'”
