Singham Again Box Office Day 10: Ajay Devgn Film Crosses ₹200 Crore Mark, But Is It A Success Story?

Singham Again Box Office Collection: The Ajay Devgn starrer action movie hit the big screens on November 1, coinciding with the Diwali holiday. A modern retelling of the Ramayana, the film is third in the Singham franchise and sixth in the Rohit Shetty cop universe. In the 10-day theatrical run, the film has breached the Rs 200 crore mark, but does this make it a hit?

Singham Again enters Rs 200 crore club

The cop action movie is headlined by Ajay Devgn and features Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, Deepika Padukone , Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh in pivotal roles. Despite releasing in a clash with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the Rohit Shetty directorial opened to Rs 43.5 crore domestically. In the subsequent days, the film registered an upward trend in business, until the first Monday.
 

After a week of theatrical run, Singham Again amassed a healthy total of Ra 173 crore. The film collected Rs 13.25 on the second Sunday. This has taken its total collection to Rs 206.50 crore, as per Sacnilk.

Singham Again rakes in less than its budget 

While the box office collection of the film has been phenomenal, it has yet to recover its budget. The action movie featuring an ensemble cast is reported to be made on a budget of Rs 350 crore. While the verdict on whether the film is a hit or not is awaited, Singam Again is clearly yet to break even.
 

Nevertheless, Singham Again has become only the Bollywood film of the year to breach the Rs 200 crore mark. Previously Fighter minted Rs 212 crore and Stree 2 raked in Rs 598 crore. With no other big productions scheduled to release in the year yet, 2024 has shaped up to be an average year for Hindi films at the box office.
