It was an unofficial remake of the popular Hollywood film The Usual Suspects. Now, his next, The Vaccine War is set to release.
3 things you need to know

- The Vaccine War is slated to release on September 28.
- After The Vaccine War, Vivek Agnihotri will make The Delhi Files.
Nobody cares about writers: Vivek Agnihotri
Vivek Agnihotri spoke about quitting Bollywood, stating that he didn't want to be confined to the constraints of the star-system vehicles, baggage and limitations that come with it. After making his debut with Chocolate, Vivek went on to make many mainstream and formulaic films, like Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, Junooniyat and Hate Story.
The filmmaker elaborated, “I am an educated person, so I have a worldview. However, in Bollywood, you are as smart or dumb as your star. Your film is big or as bad as the star. In Bollywood, everything centered around stars - nobody cared about the writers or directors. Even the biggest of recent superstar-driven hits, nobody can tell who is the writer of those films."
Vivek added that he didn’t like leaving his destiny in the "star's hands". "I didn’t want to be dictated by them. I came here to tell stories that only I can tell - you can call it ego, self-realization, or professional esteem. That's why I made the switch from commercial cinema to this," he said.
Agnihotri to make part 3 of his 'democracy trilogy'
The filmmaker informed that after The Vaccine War, he will finish working on The Delhi Files, the 3rd installment of his "democracy trilogy". The filmmaker also clarified that he always had the idea in his mind about making films on the themes of truth, justice and life. The 'democracy trilogy' began with The Tashkent Files back in 2019.
The Kashmir Files was the second part, while The Delhi Files will tell the story of India beginning right from the partition to the present day. This final part will capture the essence of the right to life, the director said.
