Tamil actress Shivani Narayanan, known for her roles in films like Kamal Haasan’s Vikram, was criticised by netizens for posting videos enjoying the cyclonic rains brought by Cyclone Michaung. For the unversed, Cyclone Michaung has weakened into a depression over northeast Telangana, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported. While southern cities continue to face the aftermath of severe flooding, this video sparks controversy online.

Taking to her official Instagram handle, Shivani shared reels capturing her playful dance and enjoyment amid the heavy rains and gusty winds of Cyclone Michaung. In the first clip, she is seen under shelter from a building, surrounded by flooded floors as she navigates the water with a smile. The caption of the post reads, "The name is MICHAUNG. #cyclonemichaung #chennaifloods." The subsequent reel depicts Shivani venturing outside, twirling joyously and splashing rainwater around like a child.

The videos sparked mized reactions among netizens. Some comments expressed sarcasm and concern, with one user mentioning, "She waited for the network to upload this video. Finally did it." Another comment remarked, "Michaung be like: Everything is for a limit only." Some comments reflected contrasting viewpoints, with one user noting, "For some, it is so nice. For some, it is a tragedy," while another questioned Shivani's decision, asking, "Didn’t you see the times you hit?"

Shivani Narayanan gained widespread recognition after her stint in a reality TV show in 2020, which propelled her into the limelight. Her subsequent roles included appearing alongside Vijay Sethupathi in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Vikram.
