AR Rahman has also issued a statement on the matter. Social media users were taken by surprise, as the announcement came just months after the couple's joint public appearance with stark differences in the two statements. However, Saira’s lawyer exclusively shattered the marriage sham mockery.

In an exclusive interaction with Republic, Vandana Shah, the lawyer representing Banu in her divorce case, speaks up about faking public appearances and allegations of agony. When asked whether the couple's recent appearances at events, including Anant and Radhika's wedding just months before their announcement were just a sham moments keeping up public.
Shah offered her perspective, stating that the relationship between the two remains healthy, though she did not spill the real reason for the separation. She said, “I don't think both of them are people like that. In fact, both of them are extremely genuine. It was not what you would call a marriage sham. Rahman's relationship with Saira -- He has been a protective husband. She has been a good wife. I don't have to speculate. I know the real reason but I'm not at liberty to discuss that.”
Netizens shock to AR Rahman’s hashtag for his divorce announcement
Rahman's X post confirming his separation from his wife, read, "We had hoped to reach the grand thirty, but all things, it seems, carry an unseen end. Even the throne of God might tremble at the weight of broken hearts.

Rahman's post was soon flooded with negative reactions questioning him for using a hashtag for his divorce. "Why a hashtag after this? Are you out of your mind (sic)," a read a comment. Another one wrote, "Waah isme bhi hashtag (sic)." "You don't need a # to ask people to respect your privacy (sic)," commented one.
