Arjun Kapoor slams trolls for age-shaming his relationship with Malaika Arora

Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora have been dating for several years now. The couple made their romance public in 2019. However, ever since they went public, their relationship has fallen prey to social media scrutiny as there is a 12-year age difference between the actors. In a recent chat show, the actor spoke about the trolls that make fun of the relationship. 

Arjun Kapoor says trolls are the same people who want to take selfies with them 

During a recent chat show, Arjun Kapoor addressed the bashing he gets for dating Malaika Arora, who is 12 years older than him. He said, “What is important to understand is that you will be affected. There is no person that is not being affected, it is about dealing with it. It also shows their (trolls') upbringing and their culture. Those people who are putting up random comments, you also know that they are trying to get your attention. So earlier, I used to get a bit worked up and wanted to respond all the time. Then I realised that I have to allow it to sink in, to understand the reason why these desperate people are trying to get my attention and try to detach myself from their reaction. Does it affect me? Yes, it does... they (trolls) might be doing it to get likes.” 

In the same conversation, he also commented that the people trolling them are most often the same people who want to talk to them and take pictures with them. He said, “These are the same people that will take a selfie with you. When they see you at a shoot, these are the same people who are also dying to take selfies and photos with you. These are the same people, unfortunately.”  

Arjun Kapoor talks about dealing with box-office failures 

In the same conversation, Arjun and the host discussed the box office failures and how they navigated their way through them. 

When the host asked the actor about his reaction to continuous box-office bombs, Arjun said, “There is so much adversity I have faced in my life ya, I think I have spoken on this couch before about many aspects of my life”
