Bobby Deol reacts to viral photo of him DJing at nightclub, says 'didn't know people would troll me'

Bobby Deol is currently gearing up for the release of his film Animal. In the movie, the actor will play the role of the antagonist while Ranbir Kapoor headlines the project, which will hit the big screens on December 1. In a new interview, the actor opened up about his DJ stint in 2016. 

Bobby Deol says trolling made him a stronger person 

In an interview with Mashable India, Bobby Deol spoke about a picture of him that went viral in 2016. During that time, the Barsaat actor visited a nightclub in New Delhi. The actor took control of the DJ console wherein he played several songs from his film Gupt, on repeat. Reportedly, the crowds demanded a refund for the same and this led to massive trolling of the actor online. 

In the interview, he recalled, “I don't know what happened. I don't know what was it that made...all of it started after one month.” He added that it was not his idea to take over the DJ, and he was invited to the nightclub as many actors are. He mentioned that the event organisers made him wear the headphones and ed the photo of him. He added, “I didn't know people would troll me”. He asserted that the trolling made him ‘stronger’.

Bobby Deol said he was ‘conned’ into the DJ gig 

This is not the first time the actor has addressed his DJ gig with the media. Previously, in 2017, the actor sat for an interview with The Huffington Post. He told the publication, “I practically got conned. Some dude approached me to show up at a club and advertised it as if I was going to be the DJ for the night. He told me about this but assured me that I don't really have to play.” 

In the same conversation, he admitted that DJing is an ‘intricate’ job and he does not know anything about it. He continued, “So I showed up thinking I’ll hang around and leave but I know it backfired. People made a lot of fun. Now, a friend of mine sings, ‘DJ wale Bobby mera gaana baja do,’ to me all the time.” The name got caught on quickly, and the actor was referred to as ‘DJ Bobby’ for a long time.
