Diljit Dosanjh Stops Delhi Concert Midway To Check On Background Dancer, Dedicates Song For Her

Diljit Dosanjh kickstarted the Indian leg of his Dil-luminato concert in the national capital on October 26. Several photos and videos from the venue Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium are now viral online. One standout instance occurred when Diljit shared a touching moment with one of his dancers. The interaction between the Lover singer and the dancer has now gone viral online.

Many photos and videos are going viral from the Diljit Dosanjh Delhi concert. In one of these clips, Diljit Dosanjh can be seen stopping his concert midway to praise a dancer who performed despite having a leg injury. He inquires about her condition, and upon seeing her injury, he hugs her and reassures her, saying, “Baija aaram nal koi nhi mai sambhal lunga” (Don’t worry, I’ll take care of everything.) 

The dancer responds that it’s fine and continues to dance. Diljit then dedicates a few lines of a Punjabi song to her. The video has gone viral online. This incident comes after a dancer criticised the management for abruptly removing her from the team.

When a dancer pulled out of Diljit Dosanjh's Europe tour due to ‘unprofessional, disrespectful’ management

A few months ago, several dancers accused singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh's management of failing to pay for performances during the North American leg of the Dil-luminati tour. On October 9, dancer Shilpa Sajan withdrew from the European leg of the ongoing Dil-Luminati Tour for similar reasons. Shilpa expressed her feelings on Instagram, stating, “I was thrilled about this opportunity, but the dance industry has revealed its true colours once again. It’s plagued by unprofessionalism, inflated egos, and a complete lack of respect for dancers, with comments like ‘that’s just how Indians work.’ No celebrity is worth sacrificing your self-respect, @diljitdosanjh.”

She explained that when she accepted the role of a backup dancer for the Europe leg of the tour, she was aware of the previous payment issues involving Diljit’s management in North America. However, she was assured that her role would be paid. As the tour progressed, she found it difficult to manage on the meagre £80 pay. Additionally, she had to cover her own accommodation and travel expenses, despite it being international travel.
