Harrdy Sandhu talks about his cricketing career, reveals how elbow injury made him quit the sport

Hardavinder Singh Sandhu, commonly known as Harrdy Sandhu, revealed in an interview that he had been a cricketer for 10 years.

Hardavinder Singh Sandhu, who is popularly known as Harrdy Sandhu, is a famous singer and actor among the Indian masses for his hits and singles. But less is known about his cricketing career. The buzz is that in a recent interview with a media portal, Harrdy revealed that he had been a cricketer for 10 years and that he had played for the U-19 Indian cricket team.

Speaking to a media portal, he said, “I have played for the U-19 Indian cricket team with Shikhar Dhawan. He was my roommate, and I have also played with Cheteshwar Pujara and Ishant Sharma. But in 2006, I had an elbow injury.”

He added, “I was a fast bowler and the injury was on my right arm. I tried to get treatment here, but nothing happened.” Singer-actor Harrdy Sandhu, who is best known for his Hindi-Punjabi pop tracks on the music front with chart-topping hits such as Soch went for his first-ever all-India tour titled In My Feelings.

In addition, he even visited Australia. “I got a student visa and thought if my treatment is successful, I will come back to India and start playing again.” Sandhu stayed there for 11 months and met many doctors but nothing happened. He even had to work as a taxi driver," he said.

Back in October, Harrdy had announced an extensive tour titled ‘In My Feelings’ where he would cover seven cities, including Delhi NCR, Indore, Mumbai, Jaipur, Pune, Kolkata, and Bhubaneshwar, as part of the first leg of his tour.

As the AQI (Air Quality Index) has fallen to ‘extremely poor’ levels in Delhi, going over 350 according to calculations of Central Pollution Control Board's National Air Quality Index, Harrdy has decided to pull back.

This new extravagant musical tour covered cities across India with Delhi as the first stop followed by Indore, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Pune, and Bhubaneswar by November and December 2023. Apart from his tour, Harrdy has his work cut out for him as he recently unveiled his new EP titled Pleasures which has a total of five songs and has been receiving a lot of adulation from fans of late.
