Irina Shayk opens up about co-parenting with ex-partner Bradley Cooper, calls actor 'best father'

Irina Shayk and Bradley Cooper started dating in 2015, but after a few years in 2019 the couple parted ways and since then have been co-parenting their 6-year-old daughter, Lea de Seine. Now, in an interview, the model opened up about how she and Cooper have busy schedules, but still manage to put their daughter first.

In a cover interview for Elle, Irina opened up about sharing custody of her daughter with the actor and shared that they both prioritise their daughter as they want to give her a childhood that's consistent with each of their normal backgrounds. She added that they "do not employ nannies" to give her a regular upbringing.

Irina and Cooper both come from "normal backgrounds" owing to which they want to give their daughter a regular childhood. She said, "Looking at my daughter now, she’s growing up in a completely different environment. But we want her to know the value of stuff. We want to show our daughter, ‘You have to work hard to get something.’”

Despite having a busy schedule, both of them "always find a way" to work things out and spend time with their daughter. Not delving much into her past relationship with Cooper, Irina just said, "He’s the best father Lea and I could dream of. It always works, but it always works because we make it work.” She added that they take Lea with them everywhere. Elaborating the Russian model added, "She’s super easy. Two days ago, I had to go to the gym, so I just got her a drawing book and said, ‘Mama’s working out.’ She was drawing for an hour. Even when Cooper is shooting a film, he and Irina hammer out a schedule that works for both of them.

Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk welcomed a daughter, Lea, in March 2017. Two years later, PEOPLE confirmed that they had split after four years of dating. After their split, the former couple remained on good terms and kept a friendly co-parenting dynamic.
