Kiara Advani reveals details of Sidharth Malhotra’s Shershaah style marriage proposal

Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra got married this February after dating for several years. They met on the sets of Shershaah, their first film together. Recently, the actress, in a talk show, opened up about how Sidharth proposed to her. Kiara also revealed what she 'loves, hates and tolerates' about Sidharth.

How did Sidharth Malhotra propose Kiara Advani?

Kiara Advani recently appeared on a chat show with Lust Stories co-star Vicky Kaushal and revealed that her husband-actor Sidharth proposed to her last year in Rome when the couple were on vacation with the latter’s family. The Jugjugg Jeeyo actress recalled that it was the couple's first family holiday, but her parents couldn't make it as her mother was diagnosed with COVID.

The actress had an intuition that Sidharth would propose to her, so before he did, Kiara said she had asked him to speak to her parents, to which a surprised Sidharth replied saying, "Are you kidding me?" To which Kiara’s response was, "Yeah, you first ask them and take their permission, let's do it like the right way. They will be happy."

"It (proposal) did come as a surprise because I did not know where on this trip and also in my head, I was like I hope he does propose because now I've built it up and if he doesn't propose on this trip…but he did it."

Recalling the day he proposed to her, Kiara said, "He took us to this Michelin star restaurant and his nephew was with us who was supposed to take the photos and capture the moment. I'm sleepy because I have just landed and joined them on this trip. So, I was really tired. And he has planned the works. He has done this candle-light dinner on top. We go back after dinner. He takes me up for a walk and suddenly a violinist comes out of the bushes playing and sweetly his nephew taking our video from the bushes and Sid goes on one knee and proposes. I was so overwhelmed. Then he starts saying the lines of Shershaah. He's like, 'Dilli ka sidha sadha launda hu (I'm a simple boy from Delhi) with the full dialogues of Shershaah and I burst out laughing."

What does Kiara Advani love, hate and tolerate about Sidharth Malhotra?

When asked what she loves, hates and tolerates about her husband, Kiara revealed she loves the way he values people and tolerates how he "stresses" her out every time they have to attend an event. The actress said she doesn't hate anything about Sidharth as "there is nothing to hate about him".

"I love the way he (Sidharth Malhotra) values people. I tolerate the way he stresses me out every time I've to get ready for an event because he's not ready so the stress comes out on me. I must say I am always pretty punctual. And I don't hate anything. I mean, there is nothing to hate about him," she said.

The couple had an intimate wedding ceremony at Suryagarh Palace, Rajasthan. It was followed by a grand reception in Mumbai which was a star-studded event.
