Odia Actor Anubhav Mohanty Engaged One Year After Divorce With Varsha Priyadarshini, Bride-To-Be Shares Photos

Ollywood actor and politician Anubhav Mohanty is engaged to former journalist Jagrati Shukla. The couple shared the news on Instagram. Anubhav's divorce from his first wife, actress Varsha Priyadarshini was finalised in December 2023 and this is a new start in his life after his first marriage fell apart.

Jagrati confirmed their engagement in a social media post, writing, "I said yes to my best friend. My heart is overflowing with gratitude for the blessings from our families and the constant support of our friends. This bond of friendship has blossomed into something beautiful, and I can’t wait to write our love story together."

In the engagement photos, Anubhav wore a purple embroidered bandhgala while Jagrati opted for a sea green lehenga. The newly-engaged couple's photos quickly went viral on social media, with many congratulating Anubhav. He is preparing for the release of his upcoming film Raavan in September later this year, but his marriage will happen way before that.

According to reports, Anubahv and Jagriti will marry in a close-knit ceremony between March 11 and April 1. As speculation rises over the couple's wedding date, they received heartfelt congratulations from netizens. Both Jagriti and Anubhav had been sharing each other's photos on Instagram occasionally, hinting that something was brewing between them. Now, they've taken the next step in their relationship.

Domestic violence case haunts Anubhav Mohanty

Anubhav Mohanty who was the Kendrapara MP of BJD joined the BJP on April 1, 2024. His ex wife Varsha Priyadarshini filed a complaint with the police in December 2020 alleging that Anubhav and two of his aides had locked her in a room in his parental house. 

Police went there and rescued her. On the basis of her complaint, a case was registered against Anubhav under several sections of the IPC and the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act of 2005.
