Lisa wins hearts of Desis by donning Rahul Mishra outfit for Oscars 2025 performance
Lisa of the popular K-pop group Blackpink wore an outfit by Indian designer Rahul Mishra for her musical tribute to James Bond at the Academy Awards. Lisa, who is a rapper in Blackpink, created history by becoming the first K-pop idol to take the Oscars centre stage for a performance on the song Live and Let Die from the 1973 James Bond film of the same name. The song is by Paul McCartney and British rock band Wings. For her performance, the 27-year-old singer-actor wore a black attire from Mishra's The Pale Blue Dot collection which he presented at Paris Haute Couture Week in January.

Mishra shared a post on his Instagram handle on Monday with pictures of Lisa's performance during the ceremony on Sunday night at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California. "Thai singer, actress and model, Lalisa Manoban @lalalalisa_m wearing Rahul Mishra couture for her performance at the 2025 Oscar Awards. She is wearing the ‘Gaian Genesis’ black tonal leotard from Rahul Mishra’s Spring Couture 2025 collection, The Pale Blue Dot," he wrote in the caption. Mishra's designs have been popular with Hollywood celebrities with Zendaya, Gigi Hadid and Selena Gomez donning his outfits at different events in the past.
BLACKPINK Lisa's OSCAR performance faces plagiarism accusations
While Lisa scripted history by becoming the first K-pop idol to perform at the Oscars, her performance received mixed to negative responses. Netizens alleged that she had copied her set from a song F*** Up The World, which is from popular girl group XG. Eagle-eyed netizens took no time to see the similarities between the songs and expressed displeasure. One user wrote, “Lisa can never be original….this song and mv is copied.….from SONG OF THE YEAR”.

Another user wrote, “Shameless #Lisa copied STYLE, CONCEPT, CHROME EFFECT for her new single. Does this Thai lady/boy has anything original?”. Many have even pointed out that Lisa’s outfits bear a striking resemblance to a stage costume worn by XG’s Jurin. This is not the first time the Thai rapper has faced allegations of copying. She was earlier accused of copying a shot for Travis Scott’s music video for the song Rockstar.
