Andre Braugher, best known for having essayed the role of Captain Ray Holt in the uber successful series American comedy sit-com series, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, passed away on December 11, at the age of 61. Terry Crews who essayed the role of Terrence Jeffords in the sit-com along side Braugher for a span of eight years, mourned his friend's passing with a heartfelt tribute on his social media handles.

Terry Crews took to his Instagram handle to share a heartfelt tribute to his long time friend, Andre Braugher. Crews repeatedly reiterated how much Braugher taught him and how immensely grateful he was to have had the good fortune of knowing him. 

Crews wrote, "Can’t believe you’re gone so soon. I’m honored to have known you, laughed with you, worked with you and shared 8 glorious years watching your irreplaceable talent. This hurts. You left us too soon. You taught me so much. I will be forever grateful for the experience of knowing you. Thank you for your wisdom, your advice, your kindness and your friendship. Deepest condolences to your wife and family in this difficult time. You showed me what a life well lived looks like. Rest In Peace, Andre. I love you, man."

Andre Braugher passed away at the age of 61

The news of Andre Braugher's passing was confirmed by his long time representative Jennifer Allen. His passing came as the result of short-lived illness. Andre Braugher's breakthrough came with his portrayal of detective Frank Pembleton on NBC's Homicide: Life on the Street whch enjoyed a lengthy run between 1993 to 1998.

Though Braugher enjoyed an expansive career over the years across both films and television, his next standout performance came in the form of Captain Ray Holt on Brooklyn Nine-Nine which enjoyed a rather successful run between 2013 to 2021.
