'Whenever I'm lonely...': KL Rahul pens an emotional note for wife Athiya Shetty on her birthday

Athiya Shetty turned 31 today. The actress received a plethora of birthday wishes from industry colleagues, friends and family. Among them, was cricketer and husband KL Rahul who went a step ahead and dedicated a song for his wife's birthday.

KL Rahul took to his Instagram handle to share an unseen picture of himself and wife Athiya, on the occasion of her 31st birthday. Though KL Rahul cannot be seen in the picture, it is evidently him that Athiya is hugging tight as she looks directly into the camera. What was endearing about the birthday post was the cricketer switching out a conventional wish for a song dedication conveying what Athiya means to him. 

The song in question is Burna Boy's song For My Hand. KL Rahul's chosen lyrics coupled with his wish read, "Whenever I’m broken, you make me feel whole Whenever I’m lonely, you’re there for my soul Wherever you are, girl, that’s where I call my home Happy birthday wifey love you" The lines, speaking of love and support, ring especially true considering the rough patch KL Rahul had been facing on the field till very recently.

Athiya Shetty's quirky reaction to Ahan Shetty's birthday post

While KL Rahul's post was all-heart, Athiya added a layer of fun in how she responded to brother Ahan Shetty's birthday wish for her. Sharing a picture of himself with Athiya from the latter's January wedding festivities, Ahan wished his sister love and happiness while relaying how much she has supported him. 

To this, Athiya replied "Are you ok?????????" reflecting the warm yet tongue in cheek bond the Shetty siblings share. This was followed by a sweet, "Love you, see you in 10".
