After a whirlwind romance, American Idol runner-up, Katharine McPhee and 16-time Grammy award-winning producer David Foster tied the knot in summer this year
Smash actor Katharine McPhee took to Instagram to celebrate a milestone in her musician husband David Foster's life. It was Foster's 70th birthday on Saturday and his wife shared many throwback photographs showing the two of them together at various points in their decade-long relationship. The post was captioned with many heartfelt wishes for the musician.
Katharine McPhee, who is also a singer, married David Foster in June this year in a lavish ceremony. Katharine also included a photo from their wedding as David saw her as a bride for the first time. The actor has also shared other photographs of the quality time they have spent over the years.

A beautiful journey
In the post, Katharine had written about their memorable journey from working together to their friendship over the years and eventually marriage. She also shared her feelings of joy on having a charming man like him as her husband. The pictures shared by her are a testament to their relationship over 13 years.
One of the photos show the couple cozy on a boat and twinning in white. A black and white photograph of a much younger David Foster and many pictures of the two of them posing for the camera are also shared by the actor. According to an international magazine, the couple is in Mexico to celebrate Foster's 70th birthday.
A whirlwind romance
The couple met for the first time on the set of American Idol during the show’s fifth season in 2006, while he was a guest mentor. Katharine McPhee was the runner-up in that season. Their wedding was a royal affair even though it was a second marriage for McPhee and the fourth one for Foster. Despite the 34-year age gap between them, the duo seems inseparable in their blissful marriage.
