Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce on Tuesday, August 20, in Los Angeles County Superior Court, as per the reports of TMZ. However, the official separation date is listed as April 26.

Since May 17, this year Jennifer and Ben have been living apart and a source revealed, that their marriage was not in the best place at the moment.

In June, the separation rumours became more solid when Ben Affleck put their marital home for sale. This was followed by Ben purchasing a $20.5 million home in LA.

According to reports, Jennifer Lopez’s new cocktail line was the final straw in her relationship as it challenged Ben, who has a history of alcohol issues. A source close to the couple claimed that the On the Floor singer's new alcohol brand was the reason behind her split with her husband.

Since Ben is recovering and staying sober, he found Jennifer’s alcohol brand, Delola, as an insult to his struggles with maintaining sobriety. Many reports suggest that the couple has not been seen publicly together since March, and this news has further added fuel to the rumours of their separation.

The first wedding was a small ceremony in July 16, 2022, followed by a bigger event in Georgia on August 20, 2022.
