Courteney Cox pays emotional tribute to Matthew Perry: He was funny and he was kind

Days after Matthew Perry’s death, his FRIENDS co-star Courteney Cox took to her Instagram account to share a clip from the show along with a moving note.

Courteney Cox shared screenspace with Matthew Perry in the 1990s sitcom FRIENDS. The actress took to her Instagram account to share a heartfelt post for her co-star days after his passing. Courteney essayed the role of Monica Geller in the show who was the love interest of Chandler Bing, played by Mathew Perry. In her post, Courteney penned a touching note along with clips of Matthew from the show to pay homage to him and their now-iconic characters. 

Courteney Cox shares Matthew Perry used to make her laugh during FRIENDS shoot 

On November 14, Courteney Cox took to her Instagram account to share a clip from FRIENDS along with the original shot, which did not make it to the final cut. In the shot, the audience reacting to the first time Monica and Chandler come together can be seen. Sharing the clip Courteney recalled, “To give a little backstory, Chandler and Monica were supposed to have a one-night fling in London. But because of the audience’s reaction, it became the beginning of their love story.”

The actress also mentioned that before shooting the scene, Matthew whispered a funny line that garnered much love from the live audience present in the studio. Along with the clip, Courteney wrote, “I am so grateful for every moment I had with you Matty and I miss you every day. When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share. For now, here’s one of my favourites. In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say. He often did things like that. He was funny and he was kind.” The clip posted by the actress was from the Season 4 finale of the show. Fans and followers of the show took to the comment section to express their grief and extend support to the actress. 

Matt Le Blanc says Matthew Perry in ‘finally free’ 

Not just Courteney Cox, Matt Le Blanc too expressed what a tough time he was having to cope with Mathew’s passing. Matt Le Blanc, who played the role of Joey Tribbiani, Chandler’s best friend on the show also took to his Instagram account to share a series of pictures and penned a heartfelt note alongside it.

Sharing a series of pictures from the FRIENDS set, Matt wrote, “Matthew It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among my favourite times of my life. It was an honour to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love. And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me (sic).” 

Matthew Perry breathed his last at the age of 54. On October 28, the actor was found dead in his Los Angeles apartment from an apparent drowning in the bathtub.
