It's controversial/ Gal Gadot faces flak for hosting screening of raw Hamas footage for Hollywood figures

Gal Gadot was one of the first celebrity faces to speak out in favour of Israel as soon as news broke of Hamas militants storming the Gaza strip on October 7. The actress' vociferous lobbying stems from the fact that she is of Israeli descent, also having served as a reserve soldier in the Israeli Defence Forces. The actress has now decided to bare the horrors of the ongoing war in a special Hollywood screening - something which has drawn immense flak from the internet.

Gal Gadot to host screening of Hamas footage for Hollywood peers

In what is being perceived as a controversial move, Gal Gadot has decided to screen 47 minutes of uncensored Hamas footage, titled Bearing Witness to the October 7 Massacre. The screening will be held in Los Angeles for a niche guest list of 120 Hollywood faces. The footage in question was collected and compiled by the IDF - Israeli Defence Forces. 

This also, will not be the first time the brutal footage will be seeing the light of day. It has already been screened for UK journalists London, earlier last week. Oscar-winning director Guy Nattiv is the one who took the onus to enable the footage to reach the United States. Speaking to Newsweek he shared, "Gal Gadot and her husband, Yaron Varsano, helped make this possible." As per a YNet report, more screenings of the footage may be scheduled to be held in the United States.

Gal Gadot's screening receives flak from the internet

Dubbing the gesture controversial, the internet has had a largely negative response to news of Gal Gadot holding a screening for the footage. Making a reference to one of her most popular roles, that of Wonderwoman, one internet user wrote “not so Wonderwoman-like after all.”

Another internet user also called upon others to boycott not just Gal Gadot but also every celebrity who choses to show up to the screening.
