Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts, exchanged vows with her long time partner, Amber Laign. The intimate ceremony took place on Friday, September 8. Roberts shared a glimpse of the ceremony on her social media handle, penning a note along with it.

Robin Roberts marries long time partner Amber Laign

Robin Roberts took to her Instagram handle to share pictures from her intimate wedding ceremony to partner of almost two decades, Amber Laign. The pictures were accompanied by a caption which revealed that the couple hosted their ceremony in their own backyard. This was followed by a reception in the same location.

What's more, Roberts also confirmed that the newly married duo would soon be heading off to their honeymoon. The complete caption read, "An intimate, magical wedding ceremony in our backyard followed by a joyous reception…ohhhh the dancing!! We are immensely grateful to all for making it a day and a night to remember. Honeymoon here we come!"

Robin Roberts and Amber Laign met back in 2005

Roberts and Laign met through friends who had set up the pair on a blind date. Roberts revealed her sexual orientation in 2013 through a Facebook post which also announced her relationship with Amber Laign. In 2012, Roberts was diagnosed with a rare blood and bone marrow disease called myelodysplastic syndrome - an ailment during which Laign stood by her. In 2021, Laign was diagnosed with breast cancer - a period which saw Roberts stand by her with insights from her own cancer battle. The pair are now healthy, and newly married.
