Here Comes Honey Boo Boo fame Anna Cardwell dies at 29 after cancer battle, mom June Shanon confirms

Anna 'Chickadee' Cardwell, who rose to fame in the American pageant circuit with her stint in Here Comes Honey Boo Boo died on Sunday. She was 29. The reality TV star passed away after a courageous battle against stage 4 rare adrenal gland carcinoma.

Anna Cardwell's mother confirms  the news of her demise

June Shannon took to social media and confirmed the news of her daughter Anna Cardwell's demise. She wrote, "With the breaking heart, we are announcing that @annamarie35 is no longer with us," she began the caption of her post alongside a family photograph. "She passed away in my home last night peacefully at 11:12 PM."

She added, "She gave one hell of a fight for 10 months she passed away with her family around her like she won’t and we will be updating y’all with more information as we get it today. We love y’all and continued prayers and thoughts for our family doing this difficult time."

Anna Cardwell's battle with cancer

Anna's battle began when doctors discovered cancer in her lung, liver, and kidney after she complained of abdominal pain. Her journey included the first round of chemotherapy in March, and she continued to document her experiences. Diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal carcinoma in January, Anna underwent intensive treatment and multiple rounds of chemotherapy. In a post shared on May 10, she expressed optimism, stating that the chemo was working, and she was in the midst of her third round.

June Shannon had previously reached out to the public through Instagram, asking for prayers as the family navigated through daughter Anna's challenging battle with cancer. The plea, shared on Friday, expressed gratitude for the outpouring of thoughts and prayers while acknowledging the difficulty of the situation with the hashtag "#CancerSucks."

As per People, June and her husband, Justin Stroud, had been in the process of relocating from Alabama to Georgia to be closer to Anna during her treatment.
