Matthew Perry Death: Disturbing Texts, Close Aides Involved, Arrests Uncover 5 Shocking Details
Matthew Perry Death: Months after his passing, the LAPD made five arrests of people possibly involved in supplying illicit drugs to the Friends star.
Matthew Perry Death: On October 28, 2023, the whole world grieved at the untimely passing of the FRIENDS star Matthew Perry. The actor was best known for playing the role of Chandler Bing in the sitcom. He was found dead in his bathtub at his LA residence. The initial autopsy report claimed that there was a significant trace of ketamine found in his blood at the time of his death. For the unversed, the actor was undergoing ketamine infusion therapy but his last session was 1 and a half weeks before his passing, making it impossible for the ketamine found in his blood to be prescribed. An investigation was launched in May to trace the source of the extra drug dosage he took between his therapy session and death. On August 15, 5 arrests were made in the case including 2 doctors, 1 drug lord ‘ketamine queen’, the actor's personal assistant and a close friend. The initial hearing of the suspects has brought forth several shocking revelations.
Close aids of Matthew Perry ‘took advantage of his addiction issues to enrich themselves’
The five suspects who have been arrested have been charged for their respective roles in supplying Perry with large amounts of ketamine, causing his October 2023 overdose death. “These defendants took advantage of Mr. Perry’s addiction issues to enrich themselves. They knew what they were doing was wrong,” U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada said Thursday while announcing the charges, as per AP News.
‘I wonder how much this moron will pay’, disturbing texts appear in Matthew Perry's death case
Plasencia, a Santa Monica area doctor, was arrested Thursday in relation to the case. An indictment filed Wednesday alleges that Plasencia, who was commonly known as “Dr. P,” used encrypted messaging applications and coded language to discuss drug deals, referring to bottles of ketamine as “Dr. Pepper,” “cans,” and “bots.” He is accused of facilitating the transfer of drugs from himself and others who have been charged to Perry’s personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa.
AP News reported, according to the indictment, Plasencia exchanged text messages with others involved in the drug sales, sending ones that said: “I wonder how much this moron will pay” and “Let's find out.” As per reports out of desperation, Perry paid $2,000 for a vial of ketamine that cost the physicians about $12.
The personal assistant administered high doses of Ketamine despite having no medical training
One of the prime suspects in Matthew Perry's death case is live-in personal assistant Kenneth Iwamasa. The investigation has revealed that he often communicated in coded language with the others charged in connection with Perry’s death to obtain ketamine. He has admitted to administering several ketamine injections to Perry, including on the day he died.
Iwamasa, 59, did not have any medical training or specific knowledge of how to administer controlled substances, prosecutors say. He was the one who found Perry dead in his home.
A close friend involved in the sinister plan
What was first passed as an accidental death by drowning is getting murkier by the day. As the complexities of Matthew Perry's death case emerged, a close friend of the actor Erik Fleming was taken into custody. Fleming, 54, was a friend of Perry’s and communicated with Iwamasa to sell drugs to him for Perry’s use. He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute ketamine and one count of distribution of ketamine resulting in death.
Prosecutors say Fleming got ketamine from Sangha and distributed it to Iwamasa. In all, he delivered 50 vials of ketamine for Perry’s use, including 25 handed over four days before the actor’s death.
The Ketamine Queen who sold $1100 drugs to Matthew Perry
Jasveen Sangha, who popularly goes by the name of Ketamine Queen is another prime suspect in the matter. Prosecutors allege Sangha is a drug dealer whose North Hollywood residence was a distribution point for the ketamine that killed Perry. As per reports she has been found to supply $1100 worth of drugs to Matthew Perry who self-admittedly was battling addiction.
