Migration Trailer: Duck family embarks on an adventure, gets lost in the streets of New York

Makers of the upcoming animated feature titled Migration have unveiled the trailer of the film. The trailer gives viewers yet another sneak peek into what promises to be a fast-paced, thrilling family adventure with a comedic flavour. The movie's voice cast features Awkwafina, Elizabeth Banks, Carol Kane, and Kumail Nanjiani, among others.

Migration follows the exhilarating journey of a duck family embarking on a migration from New England to the sunny Bahamas. The trailer highlights their aspirations of sticking together while braving the elements. However, their plans take an unexpected turn when a storm disrupts their migration, leading them to find themselves unexpectedly lost amidst the bustling cityscape of New York.

Enlisting the help of a character named Chump, the ducks navigate through the unfamiliar, city streets, encountering the dazzling lights, intimidating automobiles, and the potential peril of being transformed into an entrée. Yet, determined to seize the adventure, the family embraces the unknown, standing united against the challenges they encounter.

Who are the creative minds behind the film?

Scripted by Mike White, known for his work on School of Rock and HBO's series The White Lotus, Migration promises a storyline that combines relatability and adventure. Directed by Academy Award-nominated Benjamin Renner, the film aims to create a connection that resonates universally with its audience.

As per Collider, Renner expressed, "This movie is really relatable... There was this idea of opening yourself to the world and discovering new places and getting out of your comfort zone."

With Illumination's history of successful animated ventures such as The Super Mario Bros. Movie and the recent box office triumph of Minions: Rise of Gru, expectations soar high for Migration. Meanwhile, the film will hit the big screens on December 22 this year.
