Pokemon's Misty Voice Actor Rachael Lillis Dies At 46 After Battling Breast Cancer

Pokemon Voice Actor Dead: Rachael Lillis, who voiced the English language roles of Misty and Jessie on the popular cartoon Pokemon, breathed her last at 46. The voice actor was fighting breast cancer for a long time. The news of her passing was shared on social media.

Rachael Lillis' co-star and family remember her

Her sister Laurie Orr and her former cast member Veronica Taylor, who voices Ash in Pokemon, announced on social media that Lillis died on Saturday.

She wrote in the caption, “It is with a very heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of Rachael Lillis on Saturday evening, 10 August 2024. Rachael was an extraordinary talent, a bright light that shone through her voice whether speaking or singing. She will be forever remembered for the many animated roles she played, with her iconic performances as Pokemon‘s Misty and Jessie being the most beloved."

"Her family also wishes to thank you as they take this time to grieve privately. A memorial is being planned for a future date,” Taylor added.

Lilli’s sister Laurie announced the news of her death over the weekend. “With a heavy heart, I regret to say that Rachael has passed away. She passed peacefully Saturday night, without pain, and for that we are grateful. She is with God, the angels and family that has passed before her, surrounded by infinite Love."

Who is Rachael Lillis?

Rachael Lillis is an American voice actress and best known for her voicing the roles of Misty and Jessie in the first eight seasons of the English dub of Pokemon.

Rachael was born on July 8, 1969 in New York and studied acting in Boston and New York City and appeared in various theatres productions, animated series and independent films. She moved to Los Angeles in 2013.

Not only she has voiced Pokemon, but she has also voiced for video games including Super Smash Bros, Pokemon Puzzle League, Valkyrie Profile, Ape Escape 2, Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures and Lego Jurassic World among others.
