Toni Braxton dismisses marriage rumours with her ex-fiance Birdman

Over the weekend, the rumour mill kept buzzing that American rapper Birdman and actress Toni Braxton have tied the knot in a private ceremony. However, Toni has rubbished the rumour that she and her ex-fiance Birdman have not got married over the weekend.

Toni Braxton shared a headline picture which reads: "Congratulations! Toni Braxton and Birdman married in a private ceremony in Mexico." along with their collage pictures. The actress added the hashtag "Fake news," on the picture. In the caption of the post, she wrote, “My dear friend Birdman and I are not married... never been married. We are both single.”

Toni Braxton and Birdman began dating in 2016 after the actress became a strong backbone for the hip-hop musician during her prolonged Lupus fight. The R&B singer told People in 2018 that she never expected her friendship with her "bestie (birdman) for like 15 or 16 years" to grow into something more. She had then said that Birdman has been part of her baby showers, her plays and shows and she had never thought that they would be dating or even getting married.

"Every night he would ask me, 'Are you okay? Are you good?' I said, 'Oh my God, he's such a great guy!' " the performer shared. "When Birdman finally made his move, he told me he always liked me and I was like, 'You never told me!' And he's like, 'Well, you were married!' He said, 'I was always digging you,' " Toni had said.

After two years of dating, the Hollywood stars announced that they are engaged on her family's successful WeTV reality show Braxton Family Values in February 2018.

In 2019, the duo, however, revealed that they had broken off their engagement and no longer had any plans to reconcile. Toni Braxton was earlier married to singer-songwriter Keri Lewis from 2001 to 2013 and shares two sons Diezel Ky and Denim Cole.
