When Robert Pattinson spoke about fatherhood, his desire to have 'cool, confident' children

The actor had a major life update for his followers earlier today, as his wife Suki Waterhouse announced her pregnancy. However, this is not the first time Robert Pattinson spoke about the idea of fatherhood or contemplate about how the experience would change him as a person, or the changes it would bring in his life.

I will have a ‘totally cool, confident’ child, said Pattinson

Back in 2015, when Pattinson was promoting his film Life, where the actor played a character who is compelled to leave his family in lurch because of the responsibilities to earn the bread. Talking about his role in Life, Pattinson had stated then, “I was so attracted by my role in the film. “At my age, you don’t get so many chances to play a father – and certainly not one who leaves his family in the lurch. Personally I imagine it different, of course.”

Further talking about his own association with fatherhood and what kind of father he imagines himself to be, Pattinson sounded very optimistic and joyous about the entire prospect. The Twilight actor had remarked in a light-hearted manner, “Sure I will have a child who is totally cool and confident. He or she will probably look at me every day and think, ‘Why is this guy such a funny, quirky oddball?’ ”

While Pattinson had not mentioned any timeline for when he planned to become a father in his life cycle, he mentioned it was always on his mind.

Actor Robert Pattinson who first rose to fame with his work in the Twilight franchise films, slowly emerged as a great actor with a lot of potential for serious cinema as well, especially with films like The Lighthouse and Batman. Currently, Pattinson is gearing up for the release of his next film Mickey 17, besides shooting for films like Batman 3 and Average Height, Average Build.

Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse have been in a relationship since late 2018. Suki Waterhouse is a singer-songwriter by profession.
