King of Kotha Box Office Collection Day 3: Dulquer Salmaan starrer falls flat
Despite emerging as the Dulquer Salmaan's biggest opener to date, King of Kotha has failed to make an impact at the box office.
The much-anticipated film King Of Kotha, starring Dulquer Salmaan, hit the theatres on August 25. While the film emerged as the actor's best opener so far, it has been receiving an underwhelming response at the box office. It was expected that the film would witness a surge during the weekend. However, it is off to a lackluster start and is heading towards a disastrous box office haul.

King of Kotha starts weekend on a dull note
The film embarked on its box office journey with modest earnings. It collected Rs 6.85 crore on its opening day, followed by Rs 2.6 crore on Friday. Despite anticipation of a more robust performance during the initial weekend, the movie has struggled to gain traction.
According to Sacnilk, King of Kotha earned Rs 2.25 crore in India on Saturday. Since its release on Thursday, the film has accumulated Rs 11.70 crore in the domestic market.

The film's occupancy rates were 23.19% for Malayalam, 15.64% for Telugu and notably higher at 33.14% among Tamil audiences.
The film faced intense competition from two other Malayalam releases, the action-packed RDX and Nivin Pauly's Ramachandra Boss and Co, both of which hit theaters on August 25. As per estimates, RDX collected Rs 2.10 crore on Saturday.
King of Kotha worldwide collection
The Dulquer Salmaan starrer's worldwide collection stands at Rs 19 crore in 3 days. This is a step up for the film. While its 2-day overseas collection is Rs 8.50 crore (gross), its 3-day gross collection in India is Rs 10.50 crore. King Of Kotha, directed by debutant Abhilash Joshiy, is set in the fictional locality of Kotha in 1996, situated near the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. This area is known for its criminal activities, providing the backdrop for the film's engaging storyline.
