BTS’ Jimin announces new single Closer Than This featuring fellow bandmate Kim Taehyung

BigHit Music, the agency behind global sensation BTS, has announced the release of Jimin's solo digital single, Closer Than This. Taking to Weverse, the agency shared details about the heartfelt fan song, expressing Jimin's sincere emotions towards the devoted BTS ARMY. The agency also shared a statement, along with a video.

BigHit Music shared a statement on their social media handle and conveyed, "We're thrilled to unveil BTS member Jimin's digital single, 'Closer Than This.' This song encapsulates Jimin's genuine love and affection for ARMY." Set to debut on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 2 PM KST, the release aimed to offer hope and warmth as the year draws to a close.

Accompanying this announcement was an Instagram video featuring Jimin and fellow BTS member V, also known as Kim Taehyung. The footage captured Jimin dancing in a studio before being joined by V, both engaging with heartfelt messages written on a phone screen, expressing sentiments like, "Don't worry, I'll catch you soon," and "I love you so much, don't get sick and stay happy."

The video further showcased their camaraderie as V attempted to leave, only to be gently pulled back by Jimin, sharing a moment of mutual respect before waving goodbye. Shared with the hashtags #ThisIsJimin and #midnight, the video provided a touching glimpse into the bond between the BTS members.

BTS members commence their military service

In recent news, both Jimin and Jungkook commenced their mandatory military service, beginning with a five-week basic training at an army boot camp. Ahead of his departure, Jimin assured fans during a livestream on Weverse that he aims to do his best and expressed reliance on Jungkook's support throughout their enlistment.

Earlier this year, BTS members J-Hope and Suga began their military service, followed by recent enlistments of RM and V. Notably, Jin initiated his military duty in December of the previous year, marking a collective commitment among the BTS members to fulfill their obligations in South Korea's military service.
