Lee Dong Wook, SHINee's Minho named global ambassadors for Winter Olympics 2024

Lee Dong Wook and SHINee Minho have been chosen to represent the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympics as global brand ambassadors. Lee Dong Wook is well known for his performances in popular K-dramas like Tale of the Nine-Tailed, Goblin, and more. Minho, on the other hand, is part of the boy group SHINee and has also made appearances in several K-dramas including Hwarang, The Fabulous, and Yumi’s Cells. 

Lee Dong Wook, SHINee Minho appointed as Olympic ambassadors 

As of December 1, the International Olympic Committee issued an update about the appointment of Lee Dong Wook and Minho as the first Global Ambassadors for OlympicTM Friends. Olympic values are promoted by celebrities through this program.

The duo will begin their promotional tour for the event later in the month. According to the announcement, both celebrities are fully dedicated to helping young athletes around the world achieve their goals of competing in the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympics.

Lee Dong Wook, SHINee Minho past association with sports 

In the past, Lee Dong Wook participated in the torch relay for the 2018 Winter Paralympics and helped promote the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Games and Winter Paralympics as an official ambassador. Minho of SHINee is also well-known for supporting a range of national, regional, and international athletic organizations and events.

According to the official website, the goal of the first-ever Asian Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) is to continue the Olympic tradition by giving young people more chances to compete in a range of events before, during, and after the Games. The dates of the 2024 Gangwon Winter Youth Olympics are set for January 19–February 1.
