Kannur Squad box office collection day 11: Mammootty-starrer stays steady on 2nd Sunday

Mammootty’s latest release Kannur Squad stayed steady at the box office on Day 11. According to early estimates made by the box office portal Sacnilk.com, Kannur Squad is expecting to earn 3 crores on Sunday. With its Sunday collections, Kannur Squad’s domestic box office figure will reach 29.50 crore. Kannur Squad had released on September 28.

Extra shows of Kannur Squad added after audience demand

Kannur Squad had opened with a box-office total of 2.2 cr on friday, September 28 and only showed consistent growth in the next few days. On day 2 and day 3, the Mammootty-starrer collected 2.5 and 3.35 crore respectively. Kannur Squad’s extended 1st weekend collections stood at 12.65 crore nett.

Besides a strong performance at domestic boxoffice, Kannur Squad also performed well at box office overseas. The film’s gross worldwide collections currently stand at 58.2 crore gross. It is because of such steady hold at the box office that the exhibitors were compelled to add as many as 70 shows of Kannur Squad all over Kerala, after unprecedented demand from the audience to have more screenings of the crime drama.

Kannur Squad is 4th film under Mammootty’s banner

Reportedly made on a budget of 20 crores, Kannur Squad is inspired from a real life crime-fighting team of officers that operates from the small town in Kerala, after which the film is named as well. Kannur Squad is directed by Roby Varghese Raj who made his directorial debut with this film. 

The film also marks the fourth production of Mammootty’s production house Mammootty Kompany. Mammootty’s first release this year Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam was also produced by the actor’s production house.
