Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty to get a Bollywood remake after regional success?

Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty is running in theatres now. The film marks Anushka Shetty’s return to the big screens after the 2017 smash hit Baahubali 2 (2017). From its ongoing box office performance, it appears that Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty has become a commercial hit. Its collection stands at Rs 38 crore worldwide. Now, it is being said that the film might even get adapted into Hindi cinema.

Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty is rumoured to be potentially getting adapted in Hindi. As per the news outlet 123Telugu and online rumours, Yash Raj Films as well as Dharma Productions are trying to secure the rights to the film from UV Creations. No word on whether there are any developments on that front is final.

Several romantic dramas such as Alai Payuthey (2000) and Minnale (2001) have been remade in Bollywood. While Minnale became the highly celebrated Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (2001), Alai Payuthey became Saathiya (2002). Most recently, Tamil film Love Today was announced to be getting a Hindi remake.

Who's saying what?

Whether it is not confirmed if talks are on about a potential Bollywood remake of Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty, the interest in buying the rights to the film will surely be there. In addition to the lead pair, the movie features Jayasudha, Tulasi, Murali Sharma, Sonia Deepti, Bhadram, Abhinav Gomatam and more in prominent roles. It is a light-hearted comedy that will certainly be a hit among a larger audience.
