MTV VMAs 2023 winner list: Taylor Swift sweeps nine awards, BTS Jungkook creates history

The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards began and ended with Taylor Swift. The night celebrated artists from across the globe, with Swift leading the way as the most-awarded artist of the evening, clinching nine wins, including the top three honours: Video, Song, and Artist of the Year.

The star-studded event featured artists from around the world, including Shakira, Peso Pluma, Stray Kids, Rema, and Anitta. Notable nominees included Taylor Swift, SZA, Doja Cat, Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, and BLACKPINK, who all vied for prestigious awards.

Among the standout winners, rapper Ice Spice was named the Best New Artist, while Stray Kids, a band formed through a reality show, secured the Best K-pop Award. SZA claimed the Best R&B Video accolade for Shirt, and Rema and Selena Gomez made history by winning the first VMA for Afrobeats music with their collaboration Calm Down.
