Mission Raniganj on OTT: Akshay Kumar-Parineeti Chopra starrer set for digital premiere on this date

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has continued to impress the audience with his films. His recently released Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue has received excellent reviews. Now, good news for the fans is that the makers have decided to release the movie on digital on December 1.

This Hindi film will be streaming on Netflix for fans and movie watchers.  For those who are interested in watching this movie, Netflix will offer the option to watch it starting this Friday, December 1.

What is Mission Raniganj about?

According to the details on Netflix, the film's synopsis reads, "When a flood leaves dozens of workers trapped in a coal mine, an engineer embarks on a daring rescue mission to save them. Inspired by real events."

Inspired by a real disaster that happened in Raniganj, West Bengal in 1989. It left six miners dead and 65 trapped in a flooded coal mine. The mining engineer and trained rescue official, Jaswant Singh Gill, portrayed by Akshay Kumar, rescued those 65 miners and became a national hero.

There is plenty of drama and suspense in this true-life story, added with stellar performances from the entire ensemble, and a great background score, which creates an immersive and engaging experience.

This survival drama is a collaborative production between Pooja Entertainment and AK Productions. According to a review of IANS, helmed by Tinu Suresh Desai, the movie sets its tone within the first few minutes and stays its course. Jaswant Singh Gill, played superbly by Akshay Kumar, and his ingenious and brave rescue mission, is documented to be the world's greatest rescue operation.
 

This is a compelling story of hope, resilience, and teamwork, which is the soul of the film. The movie opens with quick introductions to the principal characters and eases right into an edge-of-the-seat thriller, which keeps up its tempo till the end.

Directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, the movie stars Akshay Kumar, Parineeti Chopra, and Rajesh Sharma in pivotal roles. The supporting actors are Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Ananth Narayan Mahadevan, Ravi Kishan, Pawan Malhotra, Kumud Mishra, Virendra Saxena, Saanand Verma, Jameel Khan, Varun Badola, Sudhir Pandey and Omkar Das Manikpuri.
