Raj and DK, creators of popular shows like The Family Man, Farzi, and Guns n Gulabs, recently shared a few amusing anecdotes while producing the show The Family Man. The show, which featured Manoj Bajpayee in the titular role, garnered great acclaim both from critics and the audience.

Raj-DK were speaking to the YouTube channel Humans of Cinema when they opened up about the amusing reaction by Samantha Ruth Prabhu while shooting an action chase sequence for Season 2 of The Family Man. The filmmaker duo stated how they had worked rigorously with Samantha on the sequence, including training with the action choreographer for over two days. The sequence however ends with Manoj Bajpayee’s character entering the scene, and yelling at her before their chase begins. 

Bajpayee and Samantha hadn’t yet shot together for the show. So when Bajpayee's character arrives at the scene and begins to chase after calling out to Samantha's character, Samantha couldn’t help but crack up in the first take itself, imagining the audience’s reaction to both performances. The duo recalls Samantha saying, ‘I spent two days doing this, all he does is, comes there and goes ‘hey’ and people are going to love him for it and going to crack up! That’s all he needs to do!’

Further elucidating Bajpayee’s effortlessness and his acting method, Raj-DK said, “He is a “studious student” who never lets anyone know how much he has studied and on the exam day, knocks it out of the park.”

The first season of The Family Man was released in 2019, while the second reason began streaming in 2021, which introduced Samantha Ruth Prabhu to the show's cast. The second series went on to win multiple awards, including the Filmfare OTT Award for Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
