Sita Ramam director's next a period drama with Prabhas, Sreeleela?

Rumors are abuzz that Hanu Raghavapadi, who is reportedly the director for Prabhas’ upcoming film, has reportedly roped in popular Telugu actress Sreeleela to star opposite the Baahubali actor. The film is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers, who have produced popular movies like Kushi, Pushpa: The Rise and Waltair Veerayya.

Filmmaker Hanu Raghavapudi’s next film is reportedly a love story set against the backdrop of World War II. Raghavapadi has become one of the most sought-after filmmakers in the industry after the mammoth success of his 2022 film Sita Ramam, which starred Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles. It acquired both critical and commercial success.

Earlier, it was reported in May that Hanu Raghavapudi had roped in Prabhas for his next film. Now reports are coming in that Sreeleela has been signed opposite the pan-India star for the period romance. A report in 123 Telugu stated that Prabhas was narrated the film's story by the director some time back and he liked it. However, an official announcement regarding the film and the cast is still awaited. 

Sreeleela is one of the busiest actresses in the Telugu film industry right now. She had appeared in 3 big movies last year - Dhamaka, James and By Two Love. Her latest film Skanda, in which she stars opposite Ram Pothineni, is slated to release on September 28. Among her upcoming releases are Mahesh Babu starrer Guntur Kaaram, Vijay Deverakonda starrer VD 12, Nandamuri Balkrishna's Bhagavanth Kesari and Pawan Kalyan's Ustaad Bhagat Singh.

Prabhas is gearing up for the release of two pan-India projects - Kalki 2898 AD and Salaar. Recently, Salaar makers announced that they are postponing the film's release. Kalki 2898 AD, meanwhile, is currently slated to release in January 2024.
