Skanda Box Office Collection Day 6: Film witnesses major dip on first Tuesday

Ram Pothineni starrer Skanda, in 6 days of its release, has only managed to earn a total of 36.45 crores despite having no competition at the box office. The film, which was critically called a meaningless massy film, earned just Rs 2.75 crore across languages. Half of what it earned on its first Monday.

Ram Pothineni's film sees a dip in collection on working Tuesday

Most of the films released on September 28 enjoyed an extended weekend. While a few films did exceptionally well, others couldn't  benefit from the five day long holiday. Skanda too, having released on the same day, and being the only Telugu film to have released, earned nearly Rs 36.45 crores across languages, according to Sacknilk. However, the film could have done better for its reported budget and the extended weekend. 

The film had a promising opening of Rs 11.5 crore. However, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Skanda managed to earn only Rs 5.05 crores, 5.3 crores, and 6.95 crores respectively, across all languages. While the film's first Monday earnings were still decent with Rs 4.9 crore, the film saw a major dip on first working Tuesday since the film's release. It needs to be seen if the film manages to break even at the box office. 

Will Skanda survive new releases this week?

The Tollywood film, also released in Hindi and Tamil, is expected to continue decent earning at the box office until films like the Narne Nithin-Ram Nithin starrer Mad, Tantiram: Chapter 1: Tales of Shivakasi, Rules Ranjann and other Telugu titles release on October 6.
