RS Shivaji was well-known for his holistic experience with film production, having donned several hats behind-the-scenes, beyond his time as an actor.
Tamil actor and comedian, RS Shivaji, who was recently seen in film Lucky Man, has passed away. The cause of his death currently stands unconfirmed though speculation suggests the veteran actor died due to a cardiac arrest. He was 66.

RS Shivaji, was best known for his role in the Suriya led drama film, Soorarai Pottru, which released in 2020. The veteran actor had his last release, as recently as September 1 - the Yogi Babu starrer Lucky Man. News of his death broke on September 2.

RS Shivaji was well-known for his long standing collaboration with Kamal Haasan. The actor had appeared in several films either starring Haasan or produced by his production house, Raaj Kamal Films International across the 1980s and 1990s. Besides these, he has also starred in films Apoorva Sagodharagal (1989), Michael Madana Kama Rajan (1990), Anbe Sivam (2003) and Unnaipol Oruvan (2009) .
Who is RS Shivaji?
RS Shivaji was born into a film family. Born in 1956, he was the son of actor and producer MR Santhanam. RS Shivaji had been holistically involved in the filmmaking process. Not only was he a seasoned actor, but had also dabbled with other facets of the process having worked as a assistant director, sound designer and line producer. Dharala Prabhu (2020), Soorarai Pottru (2020) and Gargi (2022) were some of his most notable releases. RS Shivaji was 66 at the time of his passing.
