Suriya to collaborate with Karthikeya 2 filmmaker for a film based on Vedic scriptures

Tamil superstar Suriya has many exciting projects in the pipeline. The poster for his upcoming project Kanguva was launched in an online release. Earlier, Suriya had also signed the next directorial project of Sudha Kongara. Now reports are coming in that the Jai Bhim star has signed on a fantasy film.

Every meeting with Suriya is enriching: Director Chandoo

The said film is reportedly being directed by filmmaker Chandoo Mondeti, who confirmed the development in a recent interview. Talking about their collaboration, the filmmaker spoke about the core subject for his film. He added, “I am planning a film about four Vedas - Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda and Atharvaveda - with him and it would be a socio-fantasy kind of movie and we are both quite excited about it.”

The filmmaker in the said interview recalled the moment when Suriya talked about his film Karthikeya 2, remembering various shots from the film in vivid detail. Mondeti was full of praises for the Jai Bhim actor, praising his encouraging and friendly behaviour in general. The Karthikeya 2 director added, “Every meeting with him has been enriching.” At the same time, Kondeti also stated that Suriya is occupied with multiple projects at this moment and would be busy for another one and half to two years. The Karthikeya 2 filmmaker further informed that Suriya consistently calls him to check about the progress in the script-writing process.

Suriya-starrer Kanguva will release in early 2024

Besides his film with Suriya, Chandoo Mondeti is planning another project with Naga Chaitanya. The two have collaborated on four films in the past. Meanwhile, Suriya is currently busy shooting in Rajahmundry district, Andhra Prdesh for Kanguva, the lavishly mounted period action drama. The lavishly mounted period action drama is tentatively planned to release in early 2024.
