Sivakarthikeyan reacts to Amaran's comparison with Shershah

A couple of years back, director Vishnuvaradhan explored a similar theme of war drama in Shershaah, which portrayed the story of Col. Vikram Batra, with Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. As Amaran gained popularity across India, many noticed the strong romantic elements in both films, leading to frequent comparisons. During a promotional event in Mumbai covered by Pinkvilla, Sivakarthikeyan, who plays Major Mukund in Amaran, addressed this, saying, “Shershaah is a good film, but I don’t like comparisons.”

He further explained the thought behind making of Amaran, stating, “This isn’t about proving one film is better or that both are the same. Amaran was created to honour what Mukund and Indhu contributed to this country. Our primary goal was to portray that innocent, sincere, and soulful love. It’s this love that has resonated with the audience.
