Dhanush's Sister Thanks Him For Casting Her Cardiologist Husband In Raayaan: Never In My Life...
Raayan Update: Dhanush's brother-in-law Dr Karthick Anjaneyan played the supporting role of a police officer, a subordinate of Prakash Raj.
Dhanush starrer Raayan which marked his second directorial earned positive reviews from the critics and audience. The movie has grossed Rs 150 crore at the box office and emerged as the highest-ever grossing Tamil movie in 2024. Marking the milestone, Dhanush's sister Karthika Devi took to her social media handle to thank her brother for casting her husband Dr Karthick Anjaneyan, a cardiologist by profession.

Taking to her Instagram handle, Karthika shared a series of photos of her husband Karthick and expressed her happiness on seeing him on the big screen. He played a supporting role of a police, subordinate of Prakash Raj. In the first photo, Karthika and Karthick are happily posing for the photo on the sets of Raayan. It is followed by a photo of Karthick with brother-in-law Dhanush.
She started her note by writing, "I was just waiting to post these pictures for more than a year now and share my happiness with my Insta family... Dr. Karthick anjaneyan is a well known cardiologist who is known for his amazing medical skills and management. But when I heard from my brother that he will be doing a small role in his 50th film I was just wondering what's wrong with him and what did he actually see in anjee." She added that she was "very curious" and "thrilled" to witness her brother Dhanush directing her husband.
"Never in my life I thought I would see my husband in big screen. That too in such a good role.. and all credits to D. Its such a privilege to be a part of such a huge movie that too in D50 directed by D.. and I have no words to thank my lil brother for that," she added.
What do we know about Raayan?
Co-starring Kalidas Jayaram and Sundeep Kishan, the movie follows Kathavaraayan Raayan, a fast-food hotel owner in North Chennai, who begins to protect his family when they inadvertently get muddled in a war between two rival gangs. Raayan grossed ₹23.75 crore worldwide on its opening day, which was the second-highest first-day gross for a Tamil film, with over ₹16 crore from India. The film surpassed Karnan (2021), giving Dhanush the biggest opening of his career.
