Jigarthanda DoubleX director Karthik Subbaraj says he is confident about the film's success

Karthik Subbaraj is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Jigarthanda DoubleX. The upcoming film is a sequel to the commercially successful Jigarthanda (2014). While the first film featured Siddharth and Bobby Simha, Jigarthanda DoubleX will star the dynamic duo of Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah. At the audio launch of his film, Subbaraj spoke about the upcoming film and shared new details.

Karthik Subbaraj compares Jigarthanda DoubleX with THIS movie

Subbaraj spoke at the event organised for the release of Jigarthanda DoubleX's first single. “I have high hopes that this film will bring me a significant success, akin to Petta,” the director said. Petta featured Rajinikanth and Vijay Sethupathi and made almost Rs 240 crore at the box office.

Moreover, he said that the event reminds him a lot of his first film, Pizza, which was also a success for the filmmaker. Pizza features Vijay Sethupathi and Bobby Simha in the lead roles and made Rs 8 crore over a modest budget of Rs 1.5 crore. 

What to know about Jigarthanda DoubleX?

The first single from Jigarthanda Double X, namely Maamadura, was released today. It is composed by GV Prakash Kumar and was released at 12:12 pm. SJ Suryah and Raghava Lawrence will be teaming up in the film and both of them have seen the releases of their latest films. 

While Ragahva Lawrence was featured in the Kangana Ranaut starrer Chandramukhi 2, SJ Suryah was seen in Mark Antony alongside Vishal. Jigarthanda DoubleX will release on November 12, 2023, close to films such as The Marvels, Anveshi, and Adventures of Srimannarayana.
