Nayanthara's Annapoorani set for an OTT streaming, here's when and where to watch the film

Tamil superstar Nayanthara's 75th movie, Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food, is all set for OTT debut. Annapoorani will premiere on the Netflix on December 29, 2023. This film is available in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi dubbed versions. Directed by debutant Nilesh Krishnaa, the movie will release in Tamil on December 1, 2023. Produced by Jatin Sethi and R Ravindran under Zee Studios, Naad Studios, and Trident Arts, Annapoorani presented a stellar cast, including Jai, Sathyaraj, KS Ravi Kumar, Redin Kingsley, Achyuth Kumar, Kumari Sachu, Renuka, Karthik Kumar, and Suresh Chakkaravarthy.

Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food storyline

The story is based on a girl who is born in an orthodox family who aspires to become India's best chef. She faces events and challenges on her way and goes beyond the conventional beliefs and prejudices to achieve her dream. The movie has been shot in Srirangam, Trichy in Tamil Nadu where the scenes of an agraharam are showcased where a pooja is going on. This movie will mark the reunion of Jai and Nayanthara after a decade.

In addition, the film’s music has been composed by Varisu composer Thaman. Recently, Malayalam star Nayanthara has reminisced on the six years of her 2017 Tamil film Aaram and called it an "extra special" film. The political drama was directed and written by Gopi Nainar who himself won best director in all the mentioned award celebrations. The drama centered primarily around her character as an IAS officer who is struggling to make her mark as a collector.

What more do we know about Nayanthara?

Nayanthara marked her Hindi film debut with the action  thriller film Jawan opposite Shah Rukh Khan. She portrayed a NSG officer Narmada Rai. Her performance received positive reviews, but her chemistry with Khan was criticised.

Monika Rawal Kukreja of a leading daily noted, "Nayanthara brings freshness and is greeted with a slo-mo shot each time she comes on screen. Sadly though, her chemistry with Khan fails to ignite any sparks and it's quite bland." Taran Adarsh of a leading daily stated "Nayanthara looks stunning and delivers a first-rate performance. The chemistry between her and Khan, however, is not as electrifying as intended.
