Thalapathy Vijay starrer Leo is roaring at the box office and how. The film which released on October 19, has surpassed ₹200 crore mark in the domestic market. However, there is another reason why the film is trending high on the internet. A few days ago, music composer Anirudh Ravichander and the makers of Leo dropped the song titled Ordinary Person on YouTube.

Soon after, netizens started speculating that it was heavily inspired by the Peaky Blinder song I'm Not Outsider. Now, composer Otnicka has reacted to the controversy.

Addressing the controversy, the Peaky Blinders composer said that he has been receiving many messages from fans, claiming that the Leo song Ordinary Person has been 'copied' from his track I'm Not Outsider. the composer commented on a fan's post, "Guys, thanks for hundreds of your messages about the movie "Leo". I can see everything, but it's physically impossible to answer everyone. The mail is overflowing with messages, Instagram, as well as thousands of comments on YouTube under the video "Where Are You". The situation is very unclear. We are looking into this and a little later I will give an assessment of everything that is happening. Thank you (sic)."

He further added that the label does not own the copyright and cannot grant a license without the artist's knowledge. "The label does not own the copyright and cannot grant a license without the artist's knowledge. No one contacted me and the team (sic)," he added.

Anirudh Ravichander's fans defend the music composer

Soon after the situation escalated, Anirudh's fans came out in support and claimed that the song Ordinary Person was inspired by Peaky Blinders and not copied. A user wrote, "Better than Peaky Blinders." Another wrote, “Anirudh peaky blinders n cheriya copy nadithyiyaarnallo! Sorry inspiration.”

Leo's box office performance

Amid the ongoing controversy, the film's box office performance has been impressive. Leo is ruling the ticket window not just in India but also overseas, primarily in the USA. The film earned ₹35 crore on Monday, taking its total collection to ₹216.40 crore in India. The worldwide collection of the film currently stands at  $48.5 million, according to Comscore.
